About Wanda

This is Me...Hello!

Born and raised in Winnipeg, Wanda is currently employed as a Statistics Canada Field Interviewer < http://www.statcan.ca/ >. Wanda is an avid lover of tea, cats, bugs, goats and science fiction. When not at work she spends her time with her husband and two boys on their acreage near Gainsborough Hall south of Portage la Prairie, Manitoba, Canada.

Wanda has a diversity of employment experience having been employed as an Assistant Office Manager at the Portage Woman's Shelter, a Garden Centre worker, a private estate gardener, a laboratory technician and field laborer at the ESPO seed potato farm, a lab assistant at Woodstone Foods, a Versatile Farm Equipment machinist, and has been employed as a summer student by the University of Manitoba Plant Science and Entomology Departments, and GAIA Consulting.

Wanda has a Diploma in Horticulture (1985), a Machine Shop Certificate from Red River College (1982) and has taken several Agriculture Degree Courses specializing in Entomology.

Wanda's interests include card games, cross stitch needlework, sci-fi television and movies, reading science fiction and having fun. Wanda has also has been considerably involved in volunteer work over the years. She has been an active volunteer with several charitable organizations (CUSO Winnipeg, La Leche, Portage Woman's Shelter) and been on the Boards of several groups (Big Brothers and Sisters, Piranhas swim Club, Portage Cubs, Eastman Goat Association, LaVerendre School Parents Association).
